Ploughing and Trenching

SEQ Drilling offer 2 methods of installing underground pipe and cables for regional large scale utility projects. 

We have both chain trenchers, and zero tension caterpillar cable and pipe ploughs. 

For smaller scale projects, we employ chain trenchers to efficiently and neatly open trenches and install pipes, cables and utilities below ground. Chain trenchers offer a much more efficient excavation process in comparison to conventional trenching using just an excavator with daily outputs over 1 thousand meters per day possible. Chain trenchers ensure a perfect trench width and depth helping to minimize over-excavation and disruption to sites. 

Our Dozers offer the most efficient form of cable and pipe installation, particularly for larger scale regional projects. Typically using 2x dozers, one for pre-ripping of the alignment where the utility is to be installed and a second dozer fitted with specialty cable and pipe laying systems to install the product below ground. Pipes and cables can be installed up to 1200mm deep. Our dozers are setup to install fibre optic cable (zero-tension Telstra approved systems), and HDPE pipes up to 110mm diameter. This method of installation yields by far the highest daily outputs and the most minimal disruption to areas. We have a full range of specialty support equipment to support these projects including padfoot compactors, side by side utility vehicles, excavators with custom built backfilling attachments to ensure a quick, efficient and quality installation.
